How is everybody doing?? Hopefully well- I miss you all SO so SO much!!
As I say in the title of this post, the honeymoon period has definitely started wearing off. Work has picked up for everybody, meals are few and far between and homesickness is setting in. The combination is....not so fun. Last night was a hard night for me, just a build-up of all of the above I guess. Tomorrow I start my "Marketing You" class and I'm actually excited just to have some structure and outside interaction from work and my roomates.
Tonight I am participating in a really cool voluntEARS experience called "Give Kids the World". I'll be spending the evening at "the village" with children who are terminally ill, handicapped etc. Tonight is candy land themed and I am really excited to see how it goes =) What a blessing after a rough couple of days.
To add to the roughness, I just got my new work schedule and unfortunately I only have one day off [for class no less!] over the next eleven days =( Maybe something will happen and another day will open up.....that's A LOT of glitter and hairspray over the next two weeks!
Whew....sorry this post isn't as positive, I knew that this would all hit at some point! Continued prayers are always appreciated especially that I would find friends down here that are believers. It is definitely hard to hold your head up and smile after a 45 hour work week with emotions also flying around the apartment.
Last night when I was upset I just opened my bible and prayed that God would reveal part of His plan for me down here, I was ready to welcome any type of re-assurance! My eyes fell upon Mark 10:29-31 and it could not have been more perfect:
"No one who has left their home or brothers or sisters or mother or father of children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in the present age and in the age to come, eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first."
Love you and Miss you all,
Laura
